January–March is the most consistent and strongest part of the Lamai season, when the NE monsoon blows on the east coast. Good for beginners and advanced riders.

At 12–15 knots: 12–14m kite. At 15–18 knots: 10–12m. At around 20 knots: 9–10m. Beginners use school kites chosen by the instructor — typically 12–14m to ensure controlled power and safe learning.
